John Jackson was an excellent country blues musician whose repertoire also included reels, mountain music and folk tunes. This was an outstanding collection of vintage material done in what was about as contemporary a fashion as you could get in that genre in the mid-'60s. -- AllMusic Review by Ron Wynn
