[Notes]
This collection of traditional New Orleans jazz, recorded in the early 1960s, was performed by some of the musicians who were among the originators of early traditional jazz in the 1920s. In the 1960s, many of these musicians were members of the New Orleans Preservation Jazz Hall Band. Among the featured performers in this collection are Kid Thomas (Thomas Valentine) and George "Kid Sheik" Colar on cornets, George Lewis on clarinet, and "Captain" John Handy on alto saxophone.
